You can get interesting effects by combining Viewpoint 3D objects with native Adobe Atmosphere primitive objects.

Adding Glare to a Viewpoint Object in Adobe Atmosphere

The Glare Effect only works for Adobe Atmosphere primitive objects which are set to emit light. And Viewpoint 3D objects do not take part in static (normal) Adobe Atmosphere light rendering, only in dynamic lighting. THerefore, Viewpoint objects cannot have a GLare Effect.

You can simulate light coming from a Viewpoint object by embedding a primitive object inside it, setting the embedded object to emit a lot of light and applying a Glare Effect script. Thanks to Scented Nectar for the Viewpoint star burst shape.

What to Do, Notice and Investigate

Examine the star burst shape from different distances.
  1. The 2 white cones (base-to-base to form a crystal shape) in the middle of the Viewpoint object carry the Glare Effect.
  2. Notice that the Glare Effect changes with your distance from it.
  3. To make a surface emit as much light as possible, you can enter a number up to 1,000 for brightness, even though the slider only goes up to 100.
